Project Name: Essays From My Generation

The project we are working on right now is called, "Essays From My Generation". This will be the first book, of many more to come, that The Writers Mafia will put together. The book will feature essays from both West and Martini as well as essays from some contributing writers.

This is where you guys come in. We are looking for writers who were born after 1978 (Generation Y writers, you must be at least 16 years old), who can write essays about some of the topics that affect our generation. Each essay will be featured in one chapter. Each chapter will deal with a certain topic. The topics will include: sex, school, drugs, politics, internet, voting, pornography, violence in schools, religion, growing up as a Gen Y or anything else that includes your personal views on the things that affected our generation. Please use your own experiences when writing.

The essay must be at least three pages long and single spaced. The more you can write about the topic the better. Feel free to be creative with it. If you use certain websites, books or magazines please list them in the end as your references.

We want this book to be a time capsule that captures our time. Fifty years from now, we want this book to be read in high schools, colleges and other institutions of learning. Students can read about our times, from us now, not from a journalist or senator years from now. Please be as raw with your observations as possible.

Each writer will be given full credit for their work. There will be a special chapter at the end of the book that will speak about each individual writer and their previous works. It will be a great forum for promoting your work and any other work you may already have. It will put a spotlight on you, both as a writer and as member of a movement that The Writers Mafia is starting.

There will not be any payment for the essays you submit. Nor will there be payment for residuals on books sold. However, as we mentioned before, this will be an amazing promotional opportunity for each chosen writer.
