Dear Ladies and Gents,

We had a major critical error in our database and we lost our Writers Forum, fortunately we had it backed-up. Unfortunately the backup was done on April 30th so anything that was posted after that was lost. Anyone who registered after that, the profiles, were also lost. The same happened for Writing Wrongs, the articles in May were deleted. While we had all our articles on our own personal computers we lost some of the comments. We were able to save a few but some were lost.

We are deeply sorry for what happened and we're still not sure what went wrong.

Please help us continue to build our community by posting, sharing and offering feedback.

We have changed up the look and feel of the website. Besides the colors and outline, the articles that were once on the main site are now in The Writers Corner. We're currently working on a Screenwriters Corner and the Poetry Corner.

We have created a main navigation drop menu that will be in all the other sites and corners to help the flow of navigating. This should make it easier to jump from one site to another.

The Essays from My Generation project is still open for those who would like to submit essays. The essay must be at least three pages long. Your topic should be something that is in relation to Gen Y (Violence in schools, media's influence, alcohol, drugs, so on...). You also must have a personal connection to the topic (father was an alcoholic, you were an alcoholic, so on...) The last date for submissions is June 15th. However, we will allow a two week extention for those who ask for one.

We're looking for passionate, opinionated writers who want to write for Writing Wrongs. If you're interested, please submit a sample article.

The deadline for our Project, Essays from My Generation, has been extended for two extra weeks because most of our essayist are preparing and taking finals. The official new deadline is June 15th.

We will be offering an additional two weeks (till July 1st) ONLY to anyone who is currently working on an essay but needs more time. However, you must contact us and let us know that you will be requiring the additional two weeks. The absolute final date for submissions is July 1st.

The Poetry Corner is still in the works. It will be available sometime in early May. We will be spotlighting a single poem per week and offer information about poetry and publishing poetry.

Writers Mafia Publishing is currently in the works. "Essays From My Generation" will be the first book published by the new publishing company.

We will not be accepting any submissions for books anytime soon. We will ONLY be publishing our projects for the time being.

We will offer more information as soon as it's up and running.

Don't forget to check out the deadline calendar for poetry and short fiction contests and prizes recently published by Poets and Writers Magazine.

Since we launched in February, we've had over half a million hits to our site! We want to keep our site Ad free so we ask those who support our cause to donate at least one dollar to help maintain our cause. It is not a requirement but it would help enormously. So please Support Our Cause

News, news and more news.

We're looking for opinionated writers with passion to write for our Writing Wrongs page. What does that mean? You write about what's going on in the world and how you feel about it. Sounds simple enough right? It is. Contact us if you're interested.

We will be putting together projects in the near future for poetry, short stories and "other". Stay tuned for "other". "Other" is very important and requires some explaining. So when it comes up, we'll explain.

We're putting together a Poetry Corner and a Forum. That should be coming very soon. So hang on to your poems. Check back for updates. Or...

We have a toolbar. You can add it to your Firefox or Internet Explorer and it will provide easy access to our site and it has a news rss feed that will show the latest headlines in our Writing Wrongs page. It is completely safe and it even has a pop-up blocker. It also has an e-mail alert to make things even more convenient.

We've added two articles, Publishing Poetry and The Left/Right Brain Relationship. The ladder deals with how the relationship between your left and right brain affect your writing. Interesting stuff, may even be the cause of some people's writer's block.

We've also added sixty something magazine links on our Writing Magazines Page. You can submit your poetry, fiction, essays and even articles to most of the magazines listed there.

The project update is: The essays must be at least three pages long and single spaced. The more you can write about the topic the better. Feel free to be creative with it. If you use certain websites, books or magazines please list them in the end as your references.

We have also added more resources on our Resources Page that include where to find writing grants and awards. Hopefully those can help you guys out.

We also know that we are lacking more poetry related topics and areas on the site and we're currently working on it. Send us your ideas if you have any. If you think we are missing something please let us know.

If you're interested in writing your opinions on what's going on in the world today please contact us regarding Writing Wrongs. Or if you have an article regarding writing please submit it.

Feb 1st

The first update. Ah, it makes me proud to write this. It just means that all that hard work and all those hours paid off. The site is officially launched.

We have some start-up articles up now and we're writing some more. If you have ideas for articles or have written one you want us to post contact us or submit something. We'll be happy to take those off your hands.

We have our first project we're going to start in March. You can check the Projects Page for more info. I have a feeling this is the start of something very big. Wanna be a part of it?

What is our main goal here? We want to launch young writers. We will help, spotlight and launch young writers. By having them contribute to the books we will be publishing as well as helping them publish their own we will create leaders of our generation. Never underestimate the power or influence of words. I have no doubt that in a few years, any writer we choose will be on a best sellers list.

Oh and make sure you head on over to Writing Wrongs and join the discussion. Feel free to leave comments and let your voice be heard.

Please don't forget to help support our cause. We need all the help we can get. Can't revolutionize, educate and liberate our generation on the chump change we make.
